Description:

Hey,

this is how my KDE currently looks like and I would like to share my Plasma theme with you.

It is e glassy theme, especially nice in combination with the Oxygen kwin style.
I basically wanted it not to be a clone of other OS themes, it should be unique.

If you use this Plasma theme and for the kde window manager the default Oxygen style (or the Nitrogen from KDE-Look) and for example the \"Whitewater\"-color sheme as I do, it will look great and different from other OS for sure.

Note: The theme-graphics are mixed together from several other themes.
A big thx to their initial creators!

I hope some of you like it.

Yours sincerely,
Stefan G.

Changelog:

# v1.0.1: Fixed disappearing clock bug, thx for reporting
Theme now also tested under Kde 4.3 RC2 and Ubuntu Karmic Alpha

# v1.0: Initial release:

- Tested unter Ubuntu Jaunty + Kde 4.3 Beta 2 & Kde 4.3 RC

* Update: changed theme's name ;)

Although the theme looks nice, I think you should be prepared to get buried because of its name.

You really should change it to something more... well... unique and not fanboyish (no insult intended)

Cheerio, and keep up the good work

 Re: Name

Hey, thx for your reply.

I guess you are right - even if it seems (at least for me) a bit childish to vote negatively because of a maybe not wisely chosen name.
I have chosen this name not because I am a Windows "fanboy" or something like this. I am not a fanboy of anything, I just want to have and use an OS as productively and comfortable as possible, and that's why I use Linux.

I just think that the Win 7 theme really looks nice ( I mean especially the task bar) - does this make me a Win-fanboy because I like the design? I have chosen that name because the theme can be seen as a competitor for the win 7 style - at least it is an alternative for people who like it and don't use Windows.

But I guess you are right and therefore I will change the name of the theme...

Yours
sincerely
Stefan G.

I agree that it is childish. But, unfortunately, the /fanboyism/ syndrome exists everywhere.

I'm not sure which group would downvote you - the pro-win (because of the 'killer' attribute you placed), the hate-win (because of having win 7 in the title) or i-hate-fanboys group (for having the fanboyish name) :D

The new name is way cooler!

Cheerio!

The problem with this theme is it's way to translucent. The Windows 7 theme has the advantage of blur under the windows, which stops the background and other stuff making it unusable.

Also the opaque version (no Desktop Effects), it's all black. You should keep the opaque version as close to the non-opaque version as possible or at the very least look good.

Use a light gray colour for the opaque version, since it's the closest you're going to get to the translucent look.

I like the theme, but when I use it my analog clock disappears.

Looks beautiful! Great, impressive work :) With a suitable wallpaper (violet, red, blue hue) it's more artistic than Air theme! But there's a pity - the M$ 7 impression look...

Anyway - like it! No... Love it!
