Description:

Displays some controls for your media player. I suggest adding them to an auto-hiding panel.

Note: this will not work with Plasma from KDE SC 4.4. I have an updated version, but I'll wait to upload it until 4.4 is released, as it won't work with 4.3 (and kde-look doesn't allow you to access old versions of a package).

 What players?

by MetaBerylCompiz on: Jan 11 2010

If you don't mind me asking, what players does this script support? The current Now Playing script(s) for Plasma only support Amarok, AFAIK. I'd like to know if this would support other media players such as aTunes. Though it can't write to iPod (no program can to mine, I think I screwed it up, LOL) it is still my player of choice - ATM, anyway.

It works with any players that the Now Playing engine shipped with Plasma does. That is any player that supports MPRIS (including Amarok, Juk, Audacious and several others) and XMMS (optional at build-time). I keep starting (but never get round to finishing) MPD support.

There is no iTunes support, and I have no idea how to implement it.
