Description:

This plasmoid is a controller and a visualizer of informations about the songs for amarok 2.0.
It is quite, let's say, advanced compared with the "Now Playing" plasmoid. I have Kirocker as a model, so it works well even on a thin panel.
Currently it shows basilar info about the song, the cover image, the rating and other minor things, but I plan to add some other Things in the future.
Anyway if you have some feature request, please tell me!

Hope you enjoy it!

 not working in kde 4.4

by zonken on: Jan 10 2010

Hi,
thanks for the cool plasmoid. :-)

I updated to KDE4.4 RC1 (kubuntu).
Now play wolf(0.72) does not work anymore. (no tracks info, progress bar etc. will be displayed when amarok is running)
Amarok version is 2.2.190.
Only the application lunch works.
Do you have any idea how I can get play wolf running again?
++++
PS: A small other issue I realized before updating to kde 4.4:
if track A with an own cover is finished and track B with no cover starts, the cover of track A is still visible. I would think no cover shall be displayed.

it's not that. reboot your pc and it won't work again :).
the problem is that if plasma is started before amarok then dbus won't deliver the messages. don't know why before didn't happen, maybe something changed in QtDbus between 4.5 and 4.6.
Anyway i'm working on it.

it seems that method, Plasma::TextEdit::setReadOnly() exists since kde 4.4. didn't know that. Anyway you can fix it changing line 27 of lyricswidget.cpp with 'static_cast<KTextEdit *>(widget)->setReadOnly(true);' and adding on the top the line '#include <ktextedit.h>'. That way it should compile.

 LPGLv2

 by Quintasan1 on: Jan 13 2010

Hi there, do you mind adding complete copy of LGPLv2 license to the tarball since lirycswidget.{cpp,h} are licensed on it? I'm trying to update the package in Ubuntu but we either need to patch the tarball to provide a full copy or ask upstream to do this
Thanks in advance

 Bug in KDE 4.4

by elkikin on: Jan 30 2010

There's a bug while compiling this in openSUSE 11.2 with KDE 4.4 RC2. When I execute 'make' I get:

playwolf.cpp:239: warning: unused parameter ‘show’

The plasmoid seems to install alright after that, but it's unstable and it frequently crashes Plasma. Also, it doesn't work very good (can't see the Lyrics in the Lyrics widget, for instance).

that message is only a warning and it isn't a problem at all.
could you post a backtrace when plasma crashes?
