Description:

****************Vistar7 Transformation Pack for Kubuntu Jaunty****************
*******************Vistar7 - Because Vi is the real star;-)*******************

************* ATTENTION! *************
Please! Help spread the word! Write about this transformation pack
on forums, desktop customization sites, blog about it, digg it etc.
And please, please, seed!
Mirrors are also welcome
**************************************

Vistar7 Transformation Pack makes Kubuntu Jaunty 9.04 looks and in some
areas works like Windows 7.
This transformation pack is for private use only! It was made purely for
educational purposes. It's a proof of concept, showing how flexible is KDE4
and that Windows7 interface is really similar to KDE4.
It is NOT RECOMMENDED FOR DAILY USE because it comes with absolutely
no support, updates, fixes etc.
You are on your own with all problems concerning this transformation pack.
Tested on fresh Kubuntu Jaunty 9.04.

It was nice to work on this pack, but I believe that original KDE4 is better:).

 Uninstall Skript

by fredchen on: Nov 15 2009

It doesnt work on my 9.10 machine so I looked for a uninstall skript but there wasnt any skript. So I have to do all this manually. Maybe a uninstall skript will be useful for other users...

 9.04-9.10 fail

 by rocker2344 on: Dec 8 2009

if you like this theme and you already have it on ur 9.04 box DO NOT DISTRO UPGRADE until an uninstall script comes and a 9.10 install script is made. i was able to test it out. it installed on 9.04 and worked. then i did a upgrade through update manager. now it gives the same issues as all other 9.10 users

 Sorry...

by YaroMan on: Dec 10 2009

I gotta vote this one down.

1. There should be NO REASON, none whatsoever, for a new user to be created for a simple KDE themepack. Fix this now.

2. Not everyone is in a Debian/Ubuntu centric world. Leave those parts out of your install script PLEASE.

3. Actually, better yet: Leave out the stupid install script altogether. And instead, make a simple archive filled with all the KDE themes/schemes compatible with the actual settings managers. Loads less trouble for everyone that way. Change your readme into an informative HOWTO on how to apply these themes and settings.

4. I don't know about the rest of the commentors but I'm very iffie about you copying copyrighted proprietary material for this themepack.

5. Is there a QtCurve theme for this somewhere to actually get window widgets looking like Win7? I couldn't find it in any of those archives.

6. That deKorator theme is not very faithful. I ended up switching to a different one.

7. Torrents are a very lame way to distribute your content. I can't speak for the rest of Freedesktop, but I sure as heck don't like torrents. Find a host for your files.

8. Seriously. Creating a whole new user for the theme pack? What the heck are you thinking?

Sadly I can find no other Win7-style themes to try, otherwise I'd gladly pass this broken one up.

1 i cant reply an answer that one

2 if you looked at other comments, there is a script made by a diffrent user to install it on the current user

3 i aggree, it should be kde script only if it is a script. this way all linux users may dubble click install this theme

4 even better. leave options open. a script for newbs but teaches them how linux works by explaining things.wile letting the user have the choice to install it manually

5 IDK lol

6 read num 5

7 again. leave options open. manily because with torrents. the more populer the torrent the faster the download. but then again some places block P2P (ex work, school, etc)

8 again read number 2
