Description:

Hello, this is not a kicker background like so, simply is an obtained effect taking a desktop wallpaper anyone to add a semitransparent bar to it and putting kicker totally transparent, including a superior bar that simulates a docker.

I've designed it with Inkscape, but is possible to use any other similar application to do that. The source image I put here is SVG format. It has a background bar for the kicker and another for the docker with a resolution of 1280x1024"

Steeps to follow

1. Download the file kicker-docker-svg.
2, Open it with inkscape (or preferred).
3. Import the favorite desktop wallpaper and place it at x=0 y=0, the wide must be 1280 and height 1025.
4, Send the wallpaper to the bottom with the menu object.
5. Export it to Bitmap in the menu file, select document so that it takes the measures from the document, but personalize to set all the sizes are in 1280x1025, do not forget to select the name with extension .jpg or .png to export in a specific directory.
6. Select that image As Centered Wallpaper.
7. Right Click to the panel and click on config, in aspect says Enable transparency, click on advance options and set the opacity to zero. The size of kicker must be of 53 pixels, if you want less or more you must modify the size bar of the image with inkscape.
8. Put the icons that you want in the above docker.
9. Show to your friends :P

Note: If you want to use more resolution you must increase the size of the document in the menu file->document properties, import the preferred wallpaper and increase the wide of bar and docker.

Here... a translation :(!
please post ONLY in English!

Description:
Hello, this is not a bottom to kicker like so, simply is an obtained effect taking a bottom desktop anyone to add a semitransparent bar to him and putting to kicker totally it is transparent, as well as a superior bar that simulates to docker.

All this I did it with inkscape, I imagine that any similar software will be able to be used. The file that I give here is svg where it is the bottom of kicker and the bottom of docker, with a resolution of 1280x1024.

The steps to follow are the following ones:

1. Unload the file kicker-docker.svg.
2, Abranlo with inkscape (or preferred).
3. Concern the bottom favourite and posicionenlo in x=0 y=0, the wide one will have 1280 and stop 1025.
4, Envienlo to the bottom with the menu object.
5. Soon they export to bit map in the menu file, select document so that it takes the measures from the document, but personalizan so that all the sizes are in 1280x1025, do not forget to select a name with extension jpg or png to export in a specific directory.
6. Put that image exported of centered bottom.
7, Right Click to the panel and gives him to form, in aspect says to qualify transparency, gives in options outposts to him and lowers the dye to zero. The size of kicker must be of 53 pixels, if they want less will have to reduce the bar of the bottom with inkscape.
8. Soon they put the íconos that they want in docker of above, for this case are 6 since I form the writing-desk to use regilla of the same one.
9, Pasenlo by the face of the windoseros:P

Note: If they want to use but single resolution they must increase to the size of the document in the menu file->propiedades of the document, soon to concern a bottom of the wished size and to stretch a little the two I sweep.

Gratefulness a:

Me gustó el truco haber si lo intento yo también ... :D felicitaciones ;)

babelfish thank you for the translation and darknoize think that not everybody can or want to talk in English so we have to be nice with every contribution to the community :D if you can't understand it, you can translate it or you can ask it. The world have more lenguages than English :)

That it's about the Software Libre (Free Software but not free of charge, free of freedom) and GNU/Linux :D

Sorry for my bad English :)

Pana lo mejor sería que postearas en inglés así la gente no se pierde tu contribución y puede ser entendida y apreciada todos, ya sé que es bueno impulsar el Español pero no de esta manera, mantengamos un orden así las ideas no se pierden ... :D

+ or - the Translation ...

Dude you must post in English of that way we don't loose the contribution to the community and can be understand for everybody, I know that is good impulse the Spanish language but not in this way, keep and way of do the things :D

Can you make it so that the the top halve blend into the bottom? Like it is now it looks like there is a line drawn, but with blending it will look much better!
